Developing speech and communication skills

Within our groups we focus on many basic and more complex skills surrounding speech and communication:

• developing choice making skills
• developing cause and effect and switching skills
• recognition of names, photos, symbols and objects
• vocalisation
• mouth / tongue positions, volume of breath and verbalising specific sounds
• communicating wants, needs and wishes through the use of symbols, photos, objects and spoken words
• developing spoken vocabulary and sentence building
• developing confidence communicating within a group setting
